TRAINING COURSES

BASIC MIXING AND BLENDING COURSE

This course is not intended to cover blending of Essential Oils as we assume this is covered adequately on Aromatherapy Courses. We do include:

• Calculating percentages and deriving correct recipes
• Correct use of pipettes, balances and other equipment
• Making Your Own Creams And Other Products
• Mixing into Creams - Essential Oils, Vegetable Oils, Fluid Extracts etc.
• Mixing into Base Products - Cream, Lotion, Shampoo (especially for Head Lice), Conditioner, Bath Foam, Shower Gel, Liquid Soap and Bath Oil.
• Mixing into Gels
• Legal Aspects of Promoting Your Products Commercially – Getting products ‘Signed Off', ingredients labelling etc.

After discussing mixing and blending in theory, you will have the opportunity to make up some blends of you own using the Body Care Products in your own Course Kit.
There will be a selection of ‘Caromatics' Oils available for you to use free on the day.

ADVANCED MIXING AND BLENDING COURSE

This course is designed for those who are comfortable and experienced with small scale preparation of products, but who intend to scale up to supply for ‘retail sale'.

Calculation of percentages for larger quantities for Commercial Manufacture will be covered, and also all the aspects of Hygiene and Quality Assurance that you will need to keep yourself out of trouble with Trading Standards.

Purchase, calibration and correct use of commercial equipment is covered.

Obviously this needs to cover Labelling Requirements as well, plus Legislation controlling Therapists, and ‘Signing Off'.

This is the home of the National Fruit Tree Collections, and is a lovely site with a free visitor centre, farm shops, and 150 acres of beautiful orchards to wander through. (And plenty of free parking!)
