This is the home of the National Fruit Tree Collections, and is a lovely site with a free visitor centre, farm shops, and 150 acres of beautiful orchards to wander through. (And plenty of free parking!)

CHEMISTRY FOR AROMATHERAPISTS (And other Complementary Therapists) (click for more detail)

This day is spent building up an understanding and knowledge of the fundamentals of Chemistry that are useful for Aromatherapists and other complementary Therapists. The nature of the course is such that it can be enjoyed by students currently undertaking training in Aromatherapy, or by qualified Aromatherapists wishing to improve their understanding - or by practitioners of other therapies.

For over 15 years, this course has proved popular with Aromatherapy students during the second part of their courses - when the chemistry starts to get a bit intense.
How can you appreciate the difference between alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, esters and terpenes if you don't understand "Everything Is Made Of Atoms"?

The content of the day will assume that you have no knowledge of chemistry at all. (This is usually a safe assumption!) But by the end of the day you will understand post-graduate-level chemistry..

BASIC MIXING AND BLENDING COURSE (click for more detail)

This course is not intended to cover blending of Essential Oils for therapeutic purposes as we assume this is covered adequately on decent Aromatherapy training courses.

After discussing mixing and blending in theory, you will have the opportunity to make up some blends of you own using the Body Care Products in your own Course Kit.

ADVANCED MIXING AND BLENDING COURSE (click for more detail)

This course is designed for those who are comfortable and experienced with small scale preparation of products, but who intend to scale up to supply for 'retail sale'.

Calculation of percentages for larger quantities for Commercial Manufacture will be covered, and also all the aspects of Hygiene and Quality Assurance that you will need to keep yourself out of trouble with Trading Standards.

Obviously this needs to cover Labelling Requirements as well, plus Legislation controlling Therapists, "direct or implied medicinal claims" and 'Signing Off'.
