The High Street has a variety of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Even before then there is the famous Hythe Bay Fish Restaurant, a good fish 'n chip shop with restaurant, and a friendly pub with both bar food and a la carte eating! Also a small local shop and newsagents.
Similarly, the Royal Military Canal is accessible at a similar distance - canoes in summer, or walk along the banks - which stretches through to Pett Level in East Sussex if you're a keen walker!
In fact Hythe is at the eastern end of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
