Website 'Traffic' is the rather unflattering description given to human visitors to the site - surfers. (As opposed to automated software visitors known as 'spiders'.) For just about every website the objective will be to achieve the highest number of visitors - although this can be frustratingly difficult to achieve!

There isn't just one answer to the problem, nor even one set of answers. Methods used include:

We list the last item to remind you of something important: websites can be used to advertise things in the real world, but you can use the real world to advertise your website! For example, can you use your website to tell everyone about your books, but you can also mention your website in any book you write... Indeed, any leaflet or promotional literature about your business. Or on a poster, or on the side of a van... Simple but effective.
(We recently achieved a Google Top 5 listing for a website for a holiday home - but achieved more visitors to the website by writing 'Holiday Lets' on a piece of A4 stuck in the front window of the cottage!)
